The club are pleased to confirm that Alex Babos has signed a contract with the club through to the end of the 2021-22 campaign.

The 23 year-old attacking midfielder has impressed since joining us at the start of the season.

Commenting on the news manager Andy Whing said "We’re absolutely delighted to tie Alex down to a contract. He’s been fantastic so far this season and fits in to what we want at the football club. Also Alex’s desire to keep improving and push the club on further is exactly what we’re after"

Alex said “I am really pleased to have signed a deal here with the club only going in an upward direction, it’s a great club with a great set of players so it was an easy decision for me.”

Alex joined Banbury in August 2021. He started his career with Derby County, progressing to earn a professional contract with The Rams in 2016. The summer of 2018 saw Alex move on loan to Spanish Club Real Union for a six month spell and the following season have a month on loan with FC United of Manchester. He played for the Wales Under 21 side and regularly for the Derby County Under 23 side before being released at the end of season 2019/20. Last season Alex played for Alfreton Town and Kings Lynn Town.

This is a great boost for the team as they go into a busy period of league matches starting at Tamworth this evening.
