Profiles of squad ahead of tomorrow's game away to Redditch United

Mike Ford (Manager)

Appointed Banbury United manager in May 2015. As a player he had a Football League career spanning nearly 20 years with Oxford United and Cardiff City, making a total of over 500 appearances. Had a brief stint as caretaker boss at Oxford United in 2003 before having an 18 month spell as manager of Brackley Town. Mike then joined Oxford City as a player and assistant manager in 2006 before taking over the reigns as manager in 2009, securing promotion to Conference North in 2012. He left Oxford City in the summer of 2014. Led Banbury to promotion from the Southern League South & West Division in his first season in charge.

Anton Sambrook (Assistant Manager)

Former Banbury United player who made over 100 appearances for the club. Had a spell as Assistant Manager at Banbury during seasons 2007/08 and 2008/09, working with Kieran Sullivan. Had previously managed Hellenic League side Hook Norton and more recently has been with United Counties League side Cogenhoe United firstly as Assistant Manager before taking over there as manager at the start of season 2015/16, leading the club to fifth place in the Premier Division. Returned to United in a coaching capacity in the summer of 2016 before stepping up to the Assistant Manager’s role in the summer of 2018.

Matt Haycocks (Coach)

Returned to United in the summer of 2015, having had three previous spells coaching at the club, firstly under Ian Bowyer in season 1996/97, then under Phil Lines in season 1998/99 before having a longer three year spell with the club between 2009 and 2012, working firstly with Billy Jeffrey and then Ady Fuller. Has also coached at Brackley Town, where he had a spell as manager from January 2002 to May 2002, Hook Norton and more recently he had three years with Oxford City working as a coach for their Conference North side under Mike Ford.

Liam Shea (Goalkeeping Coach)

Returned to the club in the capacity of goalkeeping coach in the summer of 2018. In his previous spell with Banbury United he worked mainly with the club’s youth and reserve sides, as an assistant to manager Joe Davies, but does have one first team goalkeeping appearance for the club to his name. More recently Liam has been Assistant Manager at Hellenic League side Hook Norton and manager of Oxfordshire Senior League side Adderbury Park.

Mark Timbrell (Sports Therapist)

Experienced sports therapist who joined United in the summer of 2019 having previously worked with the Oxford City youth team and the Oxford City Nomads before linking up with Marlow for two seasons. Last season he was with Thame United.

Jack Harding

27 year-old goalkeeper who came through the Banbury United youth side and would progress to be a regular in the reserve side, also making five first team appearances before having spells with Hellenic League sides Hook Norton and Ardley United. Returned to Banbury in the summer of 2015 and is close to making 200 appearances for the club.

Charlie Hawtin

21 year-old full back who joined Banbury in the summer of 2017 after being released by Oxford United on completion of his scholarship. Whilst at Oxford he had "work experience" spells with Burnham, Wantage Town and Aylesbury FC.

Ricky Johnson

31 year-old striker who joined the club for his third spell in the summer of 2015. Originally came through the Banbury United youth side and made a few first team appearances before going on to play for Easington Sports, Witney United, Hook Norton and Woodford United. Returned to the Spencer Stadium in December 2011 scoring 19 goals in 42 appearances before leaving in September 2012 for Leamington where he helped them to win the Southern League Championship in 2012/13 before playing the following season for the Brakes in Conference North. He spent season 2014/15 playing for Hellenic League Premier Division side Ardley United. Has now scored over 90 goals for United. Has also played a number of games for the club in central defence.

Charlie Wise

23 year-old central defender who originally joined Banbury United in September 2015 from Brackley Town Saints after being a regular in, and also captain of, the Brackley Town Development Hellenic League Division One promotion winning side of season 2014/15. Came through the Brackley Town youth system after joining the club at the age of 12 from the Coventry City academy. Was part of United’s promotion winning side of season 2015/16 before leaving the club in August 2016 for Kidlington and then moving on to Wantage Town in February 2017. Re-signed for Banbury in September 2017.

Giorgio Rasulo

22 year-old midfielder who came through the MK Dons academy, progressing to make his first team debut at the age of just 15 in an FA Cup tie against Cambridge City. He would go on to make his Football League debut, aged just 16, in the final game of the 2012/13 season. Whilst at MK Dons he had loan spells with Oxford United, Aldershot Town and Oldham Athletic. He was released by MK Dons at the end of season 2017/18 and joined Banbury in September 2018. Has represented England at under 16 and under 17 level.

Ryan Macdonald

18 year-old striker who has come through the youth teams at Banbury United and after impressing in under 18 games moved up to the first team squad, making his first team debut against Hitchin in January 2018.

Amer Awadh

22 year-old forward who joined the club in February 2018. He came through the youth system at Oxford City, playing primarily for the Nomads sides though he progressed to make a few first team appearances. Had been playing for Fanja SC in Oman prior to joining Banbury.

John Mills

29 year-old striker who played for Abingdon United, Old Woodstock Town and North Leigh before joining Didcot Town in September 2013, scoring 79 goals for the Railwaymen in his two seasons with them. He then had three seasons with Hereford and scored an amazing 140 goals as they achieved three consecutive promotions. Moved to Conference South side Bath City in the summer of 2018. Spent three months on loan with the Puritans last season before finishing the season on loan to Westfields. Joined Banbury permanently this past summer.

Lee Henderson

29 year-old central defender who joined Banbury in the summer of 2018. Had been at Oxford City since the summer of 2013 after joining them from Didcot Town. He had also previously played for Bicester Town and Witney United and was at Oxford United as a youngster.

Eddie Odhiambo

33 year-old defender or midfielder who returned to the club in the summer of 2018 for a second spell, though this time in a player/coach role. Began his career as a schoolboy with Oxford United prior to joining Southampton in 2003. He signed professionally for the Saints but didn’t manage to break into their first team and returned to then Conference side Oxford United in the summer of 2006, playing on a regular basis for them over the course of the next two seasons. He moved to Stevenage Borough ahead of the 2008/09 campaign and was part of their FA Trophy winning side that season and of their side that won promotion to the Football League the following season. He then played for Conference sides Newport County and Gateshead before joining Brackley Town in the summer of 2012. After four seasons at St James Park, he had short stints with Oxford City and Kidlington before moving to Banbury in October 2016. Joined Kidlington in a player/coach role in the summer of 2017.

Charlie Barnett

18 year-old goalkeeper who has progressed through the United junior sides and after impressive displays in the under 18 side earned a place in the first team squad.

Claudio Dias

25 year-old attacking midfielder who came through the Northampton Town youth system. He signed a professional deal with the Cobblers in March 2013, prior to making his first team debut against Barnet in the final league game of that season. The following season he had a loan spell with Corby Town before having two loan spells that season with Banbury United, making 15 appearances for the club. After being released by Northampton at the end of season 2013/14, Claudio has played for Dunstable Town, Bedford Town, Barton Rovers, Brackley Town, Braintree Town and Potton United. At the start of last season Claudio joined Stratford Town before moving to Tamworth in January 2019. Joined Banbury at the start of this season.

Roger Ngaah Bosia

22 year-old Spanish born midfielder who joined the club this past summer after impressing on trial in pre-season

Pablo Haysham

27 year-old striker or attacking midfielder who was originally with Oxford City and was a regular in their Hellenic League Nomads side, as well as making a few first team appearances for them, prior to him joining Southern League Division One side Didcot Town in the summer of 2012. In three seasons with the Railwaymen, Spanish born Pablo scored 36 goals from 120 appearances, attracting the attention of phoenix club Hereford FC whom he then joined in the summer of 2015. At Edgar Street he was part of the side that won three successive league championships as Hereford quickly moved up through the non-league pyramid, scoring 52 goals for them in 142 appearances. Pablo joined Southern League Premier South side Salisbury in the summer of 2018 before returning in February 2019 on loan to Didcot Town until the end of the season. Joined Banbury in the summer of 2019.

Jack Westbrook

24-year-old midfielder, who can also play in central defence, originally joined Banbury United at the start of season 2014/15 after spending three years with South Midlands League side Mursley United. After making 48 appearances for the Puritans that season he moved to Redditch United in the summer of 2015 but opted to return to Banbury just three months later in October 2015. Jack’s second spell with the Puritans saw him make another 108 appearances before leaving in November 2017 to join AFC Rushden & Diamonds for whom he made 67 appearances through to the end of last season. Re-joined Banbury for a third spell this past summer.

Anderson Cayola

22 year-old Bolivian forward who joined the club this past summer after impressing in pre-season. Had a six month spell with Welsh club Bangor City when joining them from Spanish club CE Artesa De Segre in the summer of 2017.

Gedeon Okito

22 year-old left back who is a product of the MK Dons academy, captaining their U18 side. Has spent the last four seasons with Dunstable Town. Joined Banbury in the summer of 2019,

Denilson Silva

21 year-old striker who played for Kidlington U18s before having spells with Oxford City Nomads and Brackley Town Saints. Began last season with South Midlands League side Leighton Town before joining the Kidlington Development side in November. Moved to Banbury this past summer.

Connor Roberts

23 year-old central defender who joined the Puritans this past summer, having returned to the area after spending four years at the University of Bath and for that period playing for Southern League Frome Town. Was originally a product of the Northampton Town academy before earning a professional contract with the Cobblers, having a spell on loan with Biggleswade Town before being released by Northampton in January 2015. Conor then had a short spell with St Albans City before signing for Biggleswade permanently until joining Frome in October 2015.

Lester Davies

20 year-old attacking midfielder or forward who made a few appearances for the Puritans after originally joining the club back in January 2016 from Bicester Town having previously played for the Oxford City under 16 side. Has returned for a second spell for this season, having recently played for Abingdon United.
