Banbury v Chorley: footy at home this Tuesday night

United looking to build more points

In our last Tuesday night match of 2023, Banbury United play their rescheduled fixture against Chorley in the Vanarama National League North on December 19th, kick off 7.45pm at the Banbury Plant Hire Community Stadium.

The game is part of the Club’s “Bring a Buddy” ticketing scheme for all members and season ticket holders at home games in December. All they need to do is to purchase their full price match ticket either online or at the gate and present their membership card or season ticket at the gate on arrival and their buddy can enter for just £5 and get a free drinks token to use in the bar. Members get £1 off their first drink as part of their membership package. Full details can be found here.

Chorley currently sit just five points ahead of Banbury in the table, in seventh place. The league is so tight this season that those five points see the Puritans positioned nine places below in 16th. The last time the two sides met in March ended in a 1-0 victory for Chorley, courtesy of a goal from Stuart Wilson. On their last time out, Chorley slipped to a 2-1 home defeat against Hereford, with ex Puritan Alex Babos scoring the winning goal.

Banbury United manager, Mark Jones, spoke after Saturday’s 1-1 draw at home against Farsley Celtic: “Chorley are at the top end of the league table as they are used to being and they are on good form. We will need to find more quality in the last third of the pitch and retain the ball better than we did against Farsley Celtic. Our players’ attitude was really good despite looking a bit lethargic at times, possibly due to back-to-back games taking their toll. It looks like we are nursing a couple of injuries: we took Louis Hall off in Saturday’s match as a precautionary measure for his hamstring and Lawson D’Ath pulled a thigh muscle and could be out for a couple of weeks.”

Tickets for Tuesday’s match can be purchased in advance online via this link: Banbury United FC Tickets.

Spectator information

Admission prices for this match are: adults £15, concessions £11, students with ID £8, U18s £5 U11s £2. These can be purchased in advance see our ticketing site or by cash or card at the gate. All sales are open right up until kick-off. Cash and card sales are also available on the gate for both home and away fans.

Turnstiles will open from 6.15 pm.

Our stadium layout has changed for this season. Away fans should now enter and exit the ground via the Town End turnstiles. This is the first available right turn as you approach the stadium. Security staff will direct you.

All home supporters should enter and exit via the turnstiles at the main entrance, through the car park, by the clubhouse.

Standing and seated areas are available, with cover, as well as toilets and refreshments in both areas.

We have printed programme available at a cost of £3.

Please ensure you leave plenty of time for parking and getting into the ground. There is very limited spectator parking at the ground. It is always available for those requiring accessible parking. Spectators also cannot park on Station Approach or on Tramway Road.

We advise spectators park in the nearby Banbury Railway Station car park off Station Approach, where, thanks to the great support of Chiltern Railways, parking charges do not apply between 1300 hrs and 1830 hrs on Saturdays.

Free parking also includes Banbury Station East Car Park the multi storey car park accessed via Merton Street, the other side of the railway. Although slightly further from the ground you will be able to depart quicker from this car park after the game than from Station Approach.
