With Joe Coleman injured in the warm up it was a hastily reshuffled Banbury side that took to the pitch against Brackley Town this afternoon.
It was a fairly even, albeit uneventful, first half with neither goalkeeper being seriously tested.
The second half began with Banbury showing a littale more urgency and this was probably their best spell of the game though that final ball which could have led to someone testing Billy Turley was missing.
However it was Brackley who got the all important opening goal on 65 minutes when Elliott Sandy was put through and in a one-on-one with Joe Murrell competently slotted the ball wide of the custodian into the corner of the net.
Banbury pushed forward looking for an equaliser but this left them more open at the back and Owen Story had a glorious chance to incresase the home side's lead on 72 minutes when he lobbed the advancing Murrell but the ball went inches the wrong side of the post.
However it was to be Story who sealed the game in the 90th minute when Banbury were caught with players forward and the home side brokeaway to net their second.
