Matt came through the Hungerford Town academy, making a handful of first team appearances for them as a 17 year-old before joining Oxford United as a scholar in the summer of 2016, progressing with the Us to be captain of their youth team last season and then rewarded last summer with a one year professional contract on completion of his scholarship.

Matt has been playing for Oxford United’s U23s this season but also has recent experience of Southern League football having spent two months earlier this season on loan with our fellow Southern League Premier Division club AFC Rushden & Diamonds for whom, despite a spell out injured whilst there, he made five league appearances, scoring one goal. Matt can play in the centre of defence or at right-back.

The transfer of registration from AFC Rushden & Diamonds to Banbury United has now been completed and provided the FA has no problem accepting the loan agreement he will be eligible for tomorrow’s game against Biggleswade Town.
