Banbury United is delighted to announce the signing of 29-year-old Claudio Dias, who returns to the Club for the upcoming season in his 4th spell for the Club.
Claudio came through the Northampton Town youth system having joined the club at under 14 level before earning a professional deal with the Cobblers in March 2013. The subsequent season he had his first spell with Banbury United on a month’s loan in December 2013, making three league appearances for the club, scoring a hat-trick when coming on as a substitute away to Hemel Hempstead Town on Boxing Day.
He returned for a second loan spell with Banbury in March 2014 through to the end of that season, making a further 12 appearances for the club, scoring two further goals to add to the three he scored in his first spell at the Club.
After being released by Northampton at the end of season 2013/14, the attacking Midfielder endured spells with Dunstable Town, Bedford Town, Barton Rovers at step 3 alongside a short stint at step 2 with Brackley Town and then also with National League side Braintree Town.
He returned to Banbury united in 2019 after an impressive season which saw Dias make a combined 36 appearances with Stratford town and Tamworth in the Southern League Premier Central. After making 24 league appearances for the Club during his most recent spell, he now returns to Club for his 4th spell having played for Nuneaton Borough, AFC Rushden, and Diamonds, Alvechurch and Rugby Borough.
