Nice to see you, to see you nice!

First team manager, Simon Hollyhead has boosted his midfield with the signing of 27-year-old midfielder George Forsyth from Bromsgrove Sporting.

Stourbridge-born George is the son of former Kidderminster Harriers, Birmingham City and Stoke City midfielder, Richard Forsyth. George began his own footballing career with Kidderminster Harriers, spending time on loan at Halesowen Town before joining Gloucester City when his contract expired with the Harriers in 2017.

He subsequently signed for Worcester City before transferring between Stourbridge, Halesowen Town, Hereford, and Bromsgrove Sporting, where he signed in the summer of 2022. In November 2022, George joined Kettering Town on loan initially on loan before the Poppies made it a permanent deal.

The midfielder was at the heart of the midfield at Latimer Park and featured in 27 National league North games scoring two goals. This led the Northamptonshire side to offer him a one-year contract, but Forsyth opted to sign AFC Telford ready for the 23/24 season. The 27-year-old returned to Kettering on loan for the second half of season before officially departing Telford for a return to Bromsgrove Sporting in July 2024. So far this season George has started 11 appearances for Bromsgrove with his last appearance coming back in September in a 2-1 defeat to Redditch.

Upon joining the Puritans, George said: "First impressions have been great. The changing room has been really welcoming, you can see there is a real togetherness. I’ve had really positive conversations with the manager this week and I feel like the style of play suits me as a player. I'm hoping I can add quality and experience to the group and help push us on in the league."

George is available for selection for today’s home match versus one of his former clubs, Stourbridge.

WELCOME TO THE PURITANS GEORGE!
