Ho ho ho! “Bring a Buddy” to Banbury United’s December fixtures

Ho ho ho! “Bring a Buddy” to Banbury United’s December fixtures

. Banbury United4 Dec 2023 - 19:17

Throughout December, members can bring a buddy to matches for £5 (inc. free drink). Fixtures now on sale, including Brackley Boxing Day Bonanza!

Banbury United’s men’s team will play a bumper four league matches at home in December. The festive football frenzy culminates in our much-anticipated local derby against Brackley Town on Boxing Day, December 26th at 1pm. To help reduce the cost of attending matches at an expensive time of year, the Club has launched a December ticket promotion.

“Bring a Buddy” is open to all Banbury United members and season ticket holders. They can choose a buddy of their choice to join them at any or all of the four home matches during December, and they can take a different buddy to each match if they like.

All members need to do is buy their full price match ticket online or at the gate as normal, present their membership card, membership number or season ticket at the gate on arrival and their accompanying buddy can enter for just £5. Please note that buddy ticket purchases can only be made at the gate. The buddy will then be issued with a complimentary drinks token – to claim a free beer, cider or soft drink from the main clubhouse bar.

Explains Dan Kelly, Banbury United board director, commercial: “We looked at the back-to-back stack of December fixtures facing the men’s team – a month which also includes an away match at Warrington – and considered the burden on our supporters as well as the players! Thinking of ways to attract new faces down to the ground, improve our gate and introduce a bit more cheer to back the boys, we came up with “Bring a Buddy.”

“In putting together this ticket promotion, we had to consider that two of the four matches – against Darlington and Chorley – were rescheduled from earlier in the season and that many full price tickets had already been purchased. An add-on promotion therefore seemed to make most sense. If they like, the member plus buddy can share the cost of two tickets between them, getting into each match for just £10 each based on adult ticket prices. Non-members can buddy up with members, and perhaps this is a reminder that there are good benefits to becoming a Banbury United member, while contributing to your local football club. Membership can be purchased all through the year, on our website.”
