Assuming Jack plays at Stratford tomorrow, our long serving goalkeeper will be making his 300th league appearance for the club.

There are just 10 players in the club’s 93-year history that have made 300 or more league appearances for the club so Jack Harding, sponsored by Titanium Talks, is about to join an elite group, the ten are:

1. Pete Svenson 442
2. Dave Matthews 417
3. Kieran Sullivan 399
4. Jody McKay 398
5. Joey Wilson 374
6. Ian Bowyer 369
6. Ollie Stanbridge 369
8. George Redknap 350
9. Ady Fuller 328
10. David Woodland 319

Jack originally came through the Banbury United youth and reserve sides, making his first team debut as a 16-year-old back in April 2009 in a Buckingham Charity Cup semi-final home first leg game against Bicester Town, keeping a clean sheet in a 2-0 win. Jack would make another four first team appearances for the Puritans over the next few seasons, all in cup games, before leaving the club in search of regular first team football.

After a spell with Hellenic League Division One side Hook Norton, he joined Premier Division side Ardley United for the start of season 2013/14 where over the course of the next two seasons he established himself as one of the top goalkeepers in the Hellenic League.

Jack returned to Banbury United for the start of season 2015/16, making his league debut for the club at Marlow on Tuesday 11th August2015, going on to play a key role in that season’s Division One South & West promotion winning side, missing just one league game and keeping 20 clean sheets in his 41 league appearances. Jack is now in his tenth season as the club’s number 1 goalkeeper and with cup appearances now has a total of 373 first team appearance to his name.

Photos are from Jack’s 299th league appearance for the club at Royston on Saturday, a game in which he was named man of the match by Puritans Radio.

Well done Jack from everyone at Banbury United.
