FA Cup tomorrow evening (Tuesday) as United entertain Carlton Town in FA Cup 7.45 pm kick-off

Nottinghamshire side Carlton Town are the visitors to the Banbury Plant Hire Community Stadium tomorrow evening (Tuesday) in the First Qualifying Round of the FA Cup.

This will be the first time the clubs have met in any competition.

Carlton Town play one level below Banbury in the non-league football pyramid, plying their trade in the Northern Premier League Division One South East Division. They were in fifth place and looking very much like gaining a play-off place when last season was abandoned due to Covid19 though their league campaign this time around did not get off to the best of starts on Saturday when losing 3-1 at home to Lincoln United.

Though United come into the FA Cup at this First Qualifying Round stage, Carlton Town had to begin in the Extra Preliminary Round where at home they got the better of Loughborough University on penalties. They then were due to play Oadby Town in the Preliminary Round but got a bye due to an outbreak of Covid19 at the Leicestershire club.

United manager Andy Whing will be expecting nothing but a hard game against the Nottinghamshire side but will be looking for his players to build upon the commendable opening day point gained away to Royston Town and take the club through to the next round.

If the game is level at 90 minutes it will be straight to penalties to decide who progresses to the next round.

Admission prices Adults £10, aged 65 and over £7, Under 19s £1.

Season tickets and the £1 gold membership discount are not valid as this is a cup game.
