MATCH PREVIEW: Banbury United vs Easington Sports

. Banbury United15 Jul 2024 - 13:26

Come and watch Banbury United v Easington Sports at home, 7:30pm kickoff tomorrow.

The Puritans face Easington Sports in the Ron Thomas Cup tomorrow night at The Banbury Plant Hire and Community Stadium.

Tickets can be purchased from our ticketing website, here.

The Ron Thomas Memorial Cup is an annual pre-season tournament between Banbury’s two top clubs as a memorial to Ron Thomas, who was a Stalwart committee man at Easington Sports Football Club for many many years.

Banbury won the last Ron Thomas Memorial Cup last year, coming out 4-1 winners against Easington. Ken Charles and Josh Barlow were both on the scoresheet that day for The Puritans.

Simon Hollyhead spoke to Puritans Radio after Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Racing Club Warwick and said: “It was just right for us at this stage. The boys have had some tough sessions. We knew it would be a slight overload session for them on the pitch, and what I was really pleased with was the principles we've talked about and many of the lads showing intent to stick to those and do what's right for the team.

Ahead of Easington Sports, Hollyhead said: "We're asking players to play with intensity. We will approach it in the same fashion. We want people to bedded into a principle for 45 minutes plus. The actual structure and approach will remain the same, that's what pre-season's all about.”

Spectator information

Admission prices for this match are: adults £5, U11’s free. These can be purchased in advance see our ticketing site or by cash or card at the gate. All sales are open right up until kick-off.

Standing and seated areas are available, with cover, as well as toilets and refreshments in both areas.

Please ensure you leave plenty of time for parking and getting into the ground. There is very limited spectator parking at the ground. It is always available for those requiring accessible parking. Spectators also cannot park on Station Approach or on Tramway Road.

We advise spectators park in the nearby Banbury Railway Station car park off Station Approach, where parking is just £1 in the evening, between the hours of 6:30pm and 2:30am the following day.

Parking also includes Banbury Station East Car Park the multi storey car park accessed via Merton Street, the other side of the railway. Although slightly further from the ground you will be able to depart quicker from this car park after the game than from Station Approach.
