Aaron began his career in the junior sides at Kidlington and he was also a part of the Oxford United academy, completing his scholarship with the latter and then being rewarded in the summer of 2018 with a professional contract. He made two appearances for Oxford United in the Football League Trophy in season 2018/19 and was a regular in their U23 side that season. He joined North Leigh on loan in October 2019, a move made permanent when he was released by Oxford in January 2020.
Though born in Oxfordshire, he is eligible to play for both Northern Ireland and Wales. He has played for Northern Ireland at U19 level and has also been called up to the Welsh U21 squad for training.
Manager Andy Whing on the signing of Aaron said “We’re delighted to get Heapy on board. I’ve been fortunate to work with him in Oxford United’s youth team and am really looking forward to working with him again at Banbury United. He’s a great lad and is very versatile in playing in a number of positions so he’s a great addition to the squad.”
Aaron commented “I am delighted to have signed here with Banbury United. It’s a great club with great fans and will be a great place for me to knuckle down and kick on. I’ve worked with Whingy before and know what he’s about which attracted me to come here. With the squad he’s got now I think we will have a successful year which I’m looking forward to being a part of.”
