Players and officials put through their paces!

Banbury United players and officials visited Banbury Borough Bowling Club’s annual open day on Sunday morning. Borough life member and Banbury United shareholder Geoff Gray put the Puritan contingent, which included club chairman Phil Lines and skipper Ricky Johnson, through their paces on the green at the People’s Park based club.

The two clubs enjoy close links, with Banbury Borough sponsoring United centre half Charlie Wise and Borough members are often seen supporting the Puritans at the Banbury Plant Hire Community Stadium.

Banbury Borough President and Secretary Bob Sharpe said “We thoroughly enjoyed welcoming everyone from Banbury United to the club for a game of bowls and some socialising afterwards. We sponsor Charlie Wise and many of us watch Banbury regularly. We wish the club well next season and hope they can challenge for the play-offs.”

Banbury United Chairman Phil Lines thanked Banbury Borough Bowls club and said, “I want to thank Bob, Geoff and the Borough members for a really enjoyable morning. We all had a great time and I also want to thank the Borough for the support their members give to us at our community football club.”
