Women at the Game – Saturday 11th March

David Shadbolt7 Mar 2017 - 09:04

United are supporting the "Women at the Game" initiative at Saturday's game against Cirencester Town - admission for all women will be just £1

Banbury United are supporting the “Women at the Game” initiative, timed to mark International Women’s Day which falls on Wednesday 8 March, by offering all women and girls admission for just £1 for the game against Cirencester Town on Saturday 11th March.

Women at the Game is the brainchild of Jacqui Forster, who has given clubs, like Banbury United, support in her former role at Supporters Direct to become Supporters Owned Football Clubs. The aim is for women of all ages, backgrounds, ethnicity, ability and religious belief to feel welcome and comfortable attending sports events, particularly men’s football.

Whilst we already have a number of women who come to our games on a regular basis, we are keen to join in this initiative and for more to enjoy games at the Banbury Plant Hire Community Stadium.

We are thus delighted to give the opportunity for all women and girls to attend next Saturday’s game against Cirencester Town for just £1. We will be working hard on the day so that women, some of whom have perhaps never been to a live game, feel welcome and enjoy the match in a supportive environment.
